General Contractor Selected for Interior Buildout of New Library

Following a competitive solicitation for bids from general contractors in the region, the New Richmond City Council voted unanimously on July 30, 2024 to award a contract to Hoeft Builders to serve as the general contractor for the interior buildout of the new public library.

Hoeft Builders, Inc. started in 1983 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and over the years has built an impressive and diverse portfolio of projects including but not limited to medical clinics, professional office buildings, multi-family residential, retail, education, and industrial manufacturing. Hoeft might be a familiar name to local residents; Hoeft previously constructed the Best Western Plus New Richmond Inn & Suites, which opened in 2018. Some other notable recent projects and clients include the Children’s Museum of Eau Claire, WESTconsin Credit Union – Baldwin office, Horton Orthodontics – Woodbury, Webster School District, and more than twenty businesses in the River Prairie Development in Altoona.

“We’re excited to break ground,” said Mayor Jim Zajkowski. “We look forward to working with Hoeft as well as their skilled team of subcontractors, and we’re confident they will do a great job on this important community project given their proven track record.”

Construction of the mixed-use library, which will be located at 421 S Green Avenue, is anticipated to begin the week of August 19, 2024. The interior buildout led by Hoeft is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2025. Details regarding a ceremonial groundbreaking will be announced in the coming weeks.
