Things WE can do for you
Book Club Support
The Friday Memorial Library is willing to provide assistance to book clubs in the community. Some of the ways we can do that include:
- Recommendations and advice on title selection
- Placing copies on hold for members of the book club
In order to provide this assistance to any book club, the Library needs to have the following information provided by the club:
- The name and contact information for a point person who will be in charge of managing the club account.
- Names of books that the club wishes to read
- Dates of book club meetings
For further information on how we can support your book club, contact us at 715.243.0431.
Book Group Events for kids and teens
Would you like us to facilitate a discussion where every child reads the same book? How about a discussion of books children and/or teens have read and have them share their excitement? We can also do book talks to inspire readers. Contact Jessica, our Youth Services Librarian at 715.243.0431.
Research & Instruction
We can show you how to get the most out of the library. Learn how to do research, the best way to utilize the catalogs and your MORE account, and how to access all the resources a library can provide.
Electronic Resources Workshops for kids and teens
Information is what we do best! We can offer workshops that give children exposure and practice with our library's electronic databases. These resources can provide homework help, research help on school projects, and skills building.
Requests for Information
We accept requests for information found in our local history archive, including obituaries/death, birth, and marriage notices from the New Richmond News and its predecessors. If you are looking for a specific article from the New Richmond News, we may perform the search for you if you know the approximate date of publication. For general inquiries, please submit emails to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Charges for research and delivery of requests:
$5.00 per page per individual by email
$5.50 per page per individual by postal mail
For more information, please visit our Genealogy and Local History page.
If you are taking an online course or a professional certification class that requires proctored exams, we have you covered. Staff is available to proctor during weekday hours of operation. Contact the Library at 715.243.0431 to make arrangements for a proctor.
Friday Memorial Library will resurface your disc(s) using our disc cleaner and guidelines for repairing. We will only accept licensed, prerecorded DVDs, CDs, and game discs. We cannot guarantee that cleaning or resurfacing will repair your disc(s) and it is possible that cleaning a disc will make it unusable. Pre-pay cleaning fees when dropping off disc(s) at the rate of $3.00 per side per item (cash or check only). Friday Memorial Library will not provide refunds for any item that does not work after a repair has been made. Allow one week for your cleaning to be processed, we will call upon completion.
