The deadliest tornado in Wisconsin history demolished New Richmond on June 12, 1899. 125 years later, we will examine the horrific events of that day and the miraculous recovery that followed. To share his expertise on the science around tornadoes, and this deadly storm, WCCO Director of Meteorology, Mike Augustyniak, will join us for this fresh look at one of the most compelling chapters in the history of New Richmond.

About the Speaker: Mike Augustyniak joined the WCCO team in 2008 and is now the meteorologist for “The 4” weekdays at 4:00 pm. He also created “Mike’s Mix,” a weekly segment focusing on the art and science of making the perfect cocktail. His work has been recognized with multiple Emmy Awards for Broadcast Excellence. At the University at Albany, he studied meteorology under several of the world’s leading research scientists.
